Many people wish to know how some ebay user seem to be able to sell items at such low prices and still stay alive. There are many possiblities. Let's explore a few. They know where to source product. There are literally thousands of suppliers out there that are real and legitimate. Then there's the ones that seem a bit on the shady side. Q: If you were a thief, and it was monday morning, and you were about to "go to work" where would you go? A: To a place where people with money were gathered together. The wholesale suppliers out there range from "very honest companies" to "outright thieves" and everything in between. Just because you do not have an "outright thief" for a supplier does not mean you have an "honest company". You have something in between. Many of these "brokers" are really just decent people and have no intentions of hurting anyone and often times they can make very convincing websites and "companies" with many "f.o.b." points and they never touch anything but the money. You pay them, they keep a cut and forward the "actual purchase price" onto the "real company" and the real company ships your order. Now don't get me wrong here, brokers can sometimes serve a purpose. A broker may have access to a product because of the volume of business he brings to a company where you would not have access to that same product. At least not at the price the broker is able to get for you. However the point of this page is..."how do they do it?" and in an effort to answer this question, we must explore several different angles. Another possible "how" is in loss leaders. This is where a person considers the cost of advertising and rather than pay for ad space decides instead to give that money away, in the form of discounted merchandise. More on that in the next section. |
